WELLNESS : YOUR 3 ESSENTIALS

Essential oils. Total sensory wonderland aren't they?!

And with an array to choose from and variety of wellness benefits to boost both mood + performance, it helps to have an expert navigating.

Enter RPK's Naturopathy expert Fay Halkitis, giving us a sneak peak in at Wonderland's door. PLUS her low down on the TOP 3 Essential Oils to better Tweens at school, home and beyond!

First things first..

What are essential oils?

They are an extract of the concentrated part of a plant. They work on receptors in the brain when we absorb or smell them. There are lots of essential oils to choose from, but I have created a list of my top three that can be used at different times of the day to help you feel your best.

How should they be used?

Since essential oils are strong and concentrated, it is best to dilute them first. In a small jar, blend about 30 mL of coconut or olive oil with 4-5 drops of your choice of essential oil. You can massage a small amount on your wrists, temples or back of the neck. If you have sensitive skin or prefer not to apply directly, you can put 1-2 drops on a tissue and sniff when required or enjoy 2 drops in a warm bath or oil burner or light a quality scented candle.

Let's to kick start our supply: your essential 'essentials' please!

  1. Rosemary

Rosemary is one of the best essential oils for helping to improve memory and concentration. You can think of it as your study buddy! Simply dab some on your wrist while studying or doing homework. Then, do the same again on the day of your test or exam. The aroma can help trigger your memory.

  1. Grapefruit

Grapefruit is uplifting and energising which means it’s great to use in the morning or during the day. Reach for Grapefruit if you feel a little flat or would like a boost of energy

(nb beauties you'll find our JOY roller-blend loaded with this amongst other deliciousness, just sayin' 👌😀)

  1. Lavender

Lavender can help you feel more relaxed at the end of the day. It’s a great essential oil to use in the evening before or during bedtime. Place one drop near the corner of your pillow and drift off to dreamland in no time.

EnJOY peeps. And if you're a fan of essential oils and would like to share please reach out on insta or on email via our contacts page. We'd love to hear and may well share your suggestions with the community in our next zine. Go You. x
